Graduate Project Engineer (Civils) - Coatbridge
Your tasks:
- Assist with reviewing and monitoring sub-contractor’s programmes. Help to identify delays and mitigation strategies.
- Assist in Co-ordination of sub-contractor works, liaise with other teams, works managers etc to ensure works are completed and handed over.
- Assist in the development of methodologies for works with sub-contractor, identify interfaces, issues, temporary works requirements, protection etc. Review and where required prepare WPP, TBS’s etc.
- Ensure that “for construction” project specific drawings and specifications are available.
- Process Materials approvals in line with Specification.
- Produce Technical Queries (TQ’s), Site Instructions (SI’s), Site Queries (SQ’s) and Requests for Information (RFI’s) on behalf of SPL Powerlines UK Limited and Principal Contractor (where required). Ensure these are all dealt with in a timely manner to avoid delays and subsequent claims on site.
- Manage flow of Temporary works design and information between TWC, CRE & Sub-contractor.
- Close and frequent communication with site supervision to relay information.
Quality:
- Assist and agree ITP schedule with Sub-contractor for works.
- Undertake pre-work/pre-pour checks.
- Review Sub-contractor ITP’s, quality check sheets etc. as required for the works.
- Ensure quality of works, compliance with specification, ITP’s and drawings.
- Undertake Snagging of works and agree defects lists with Sub-contractor while liaising with project AMP co-ordinator.
Safety & Environmental:
- Monitor, review and ensure subcontractors, TBS, WPP etc to ensure documentation is accurate, up to date and approved prior to works commencing.
- Oversee activities on site, ensuring methodologies are followed and supporting approval of change.
Your profile:
- Hold a degree in Civil Engineering (or derivative of) with a 2:2 classification or expected to achieve.
- Valid driving licence and vehicle and ability to travel to site as required.
